To deactivate your account, go to the toolbar's drop-down arrow and choose Settings. The Settings page will be shown. "Deactivate your account" will appear. Choose a reason for the account's deactivation. Your account has been disabled. You can't use it again until you activate it.
Before you deactivate your account, keep in mind that you may revive it at any point within the next 30 days by signing in. If you do not log in or reactivate your account within 30 days, it will be permanently erased. However, if you need to take time off without deleting your account, you can do so for an unlimited period.
In addition, if you have a paid subscription to some of Instagram's services like Instagram Live, then you will be logged out of these services too. These services will still appear as active on your profile even after you are no longer logged in, so make sure that you don't miss out on any opportunities because of them.
Finally, when you delete your account, all photos and videos that were uploaded before you deleted your account will remain visible to everyone including non-followers until they expire or are removed by the user. So make sure you want everyone seeing those images/videos before you click "delete my account."
In conclusion, you can be logged out of Instagram for up to 30 days after which time you will be notified that your account is about to be deleted. At this point, you have two options: either login before your account is deleted or check the "I don't want to delete my account" box and explain why you aren't deleting it. Either way, your account won't be deleted immediately.
At the upper right of every Facebook page, click the account menu. Choose Settings. Scroll down to Deactivate your account after selecting Manage your account. Click Delete my account.
Tap or click on your profile photo in the upper right corner, then select Profile, then Edit Profile. Choose a reason for deactivating your account from the drop-down menu next to it. Your friends will be notified that you have deactivated your account. To reactivate your account, follow the same steps but choose Reactivate My Account instead.
How do you uninstall Instagram?
Don't worry, you may delete and revive your account as many times as you like. This option provides you the freedom to leave and return anytime you wish. However, when you deactivate your account, all of your information is not deleted immediately. It will remain in place until it expires or is deleted by you.
You must wait 7 days before reactivating an Instagram account, and then another 7 days before deactivating it again. If you temporarily disabled the account, you can recover it (just follow the instructions in the article above).
