Is it wrong to be proud?

There is nothing wrong with being proud of who you are right now. Have a high sense of self-esteem and confidence. Be proud of your accomplishments since no one else would do it for you.

It's only when you start feeling entitled because of these achievements that things go wrong. Then thinking you deserve something just because you've done something will always lead to disappointment.

You should never feel guilty about being proud of yourself or others.

Do you feel proud of someone for their success?

It's the result of years or months (if it's a short-term project) of hard effort and toil. I am quite proud of everyone who is becoming more successful by the minute. But, you know, there is no time in life when you can say, "Yes, I feel successful now." There isn't one.

Someone expressing pride in you means that they are not only pleased by what you accomplish and who you are, but they also want others to know it. When I was seven years old, I recall hearing it uttered to me for the first time (though I'm sure there were occasions before that).

Is it OK to feel proud?

It's normal to be proud of yourself when you do something wonderful. It tastes good to be proud, and it stimulates excellent behavior. Being proud is a different matter; it might make you appear arrogant and self-centered. Being proud entails inflating one's self-image. It goes beyond admiration and affection for being awesome or successful.

The English language doesn't have an exact equivalent for the French word "précis," which means precise but also perfectly expressed. In English, we usually use two words where one would do: accurate to the point of being exact and clear. Précis implies more than accuracy. It also suggests that what you are expressing has been thought out in detail and with care.

For example, if I said to you, "Tom is a precise driver," that would mean that he drives in a careful manner, without making many mistakes. He could also be described as an aggressive driver, who does not take risks but rather focuses on precision. The latter interpretation would not be correct, however, because it would imply that no room is left for intuition or luck. The first interpretation is closer to the mark.

In general, if you feel proud of something you did, then you should. It shows that you are honest and hardworking and that you appreciate your achievements. However, excessive pride can become a problem.

Is it weird to tell someone you’re proud of them?

Don't be concerned! There is no right or incorrect method to tell someone you are proud of them as long as your heart is in the right place. When it comes down to it, telling someone you are proud of them is a way of showing your excitement and love for that person, their joy, and their achievements. It doesn't need to be long or complicated - a simple "I'm proud of you" will do.

The most important thing is that you mean what you say and let them know how much they mean to you. If you can't think of anything else to say, then at least write a note instead of just giving them a hug. Writing a note shows that you take the time to think about them and that you value them enough to want to let them know how much they matter to you.

Tellingly, there are three types of people when it comes to telling others they're proud of them: those who can't bring themselves to say it, those who always seem to find something wrong with us, and those who want more hugs.
