The second symbol down the bottom, if you look closely, is "Requests." That is the "Friends" section. Tap it to activate it. Ted's request to friend me appears to be pending. Sorry, Ted; I'll get to it later! For the time being, touch on the "+" sign in the upper right corner of the screen. This will popup a list of your friends from phone number only. Select the one you want to grant access to your Facebook information (this includes status updates, photos, etc.)
If you have multiple Facebook accounts, you will need to select which account you would like to give permission for. Once you have selected the right account, click the button that says "Allow". Now back out of the Friends menu and out of Facebook itself. Your friend should now be able to access your Facebook information through your mobile device.
The Friend Requests Menu on Facebook When you're signed into Facebook, click the "Friends" button in the upper right to see your pending friend requests. If you have unseen friend requests pending, a red number will appear over the symbol, showing how many people have asked to friend you. Click the "See all my friend requests" link next to the number to view them all at once.
The quickest method to discover it is to perform the following: Connect to Facebook. Go to the upper right corner. You will notice a two-figure symbol. The "Friend Request" symbol may be seen here. It's located to the right of the "Create" button. Select the "Friend Request" option. Any buddy requests you may have will be displayed here.
You can also go directly to your personal profile page. At the top of the page, next to your name, you'll see a drop-down menu with your categories listed. Click on "Friends". A list of all your friends will be displayed. Click on the "Request Friend" button next to any person who might be interested in connecting with you.
As soon as someone accepts your request, they'll show up on your Friends list. If they don't, try requesting them again.
Your friend request letter (or email) will be sent to the email address or phone number that is associated with your account. If there is no email address or phone number associated with your Facebook account, then you cannot send messages to other people via Facebook. Instead, you should use the email address or phone number associated with your account at facebook.com.
In addition, you can also find out what groups your friends are part of by clicking on the "Group" category under Friends. A list of all groups will be displayed. You can join any group by clicking on its name.
If you don't see the "Add as Friend" option, it's because the person you're attempting to befriend has changed her privacy settings to reject friend requests (see Chapter 14 for details). Fill out the confirmation box that appears, and then press the "Send Request" button. The person will receive a notification that someone would like to be her friend, but she can decide whether or not to accept the request.
Navigate to Account Settings >> Privacy. Set "Who can send me friend requests" to Friends of Friends to prevent the "Add Friend" button from appearing on those who don't have any friends in your own friends list. You can also limit this setting to certain countries or regions if you'd like.
She'll need to return to accept your buddy request. You may add a buddy at any moment by going to the Friend Requests tab. The only way for this individual to view the friend request is to manually go into the system and look at all of the people who have requested her to be friends. Until you withdraw the friend request, the requests/people remain. You can cancel the request at any time by clicking the X next to the name.
You can cancel the pending send friend request and consider resending it from this page. To read submitted requests on Facebook, simply click this link. You may also check it on the Facebook App. After logging in, press the "requests" symbol in the bottom left corner of the screen. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the list and choose "See all." Here you will find every friend request that has been submitted.
If you want to stop receiving messages from someone on Facebook, go to their profile and click on the down-pointing arrow next to your name. Here you will see an option called "Stop receiving messages from this person." Click this button to stop receiving messages from that person.
To delete a friend request that is already sent to you, go to your home page and click on the down-pointing arrow next to your name. Here you will see an option called "Delete Pending Friend Requests." Select the request you want to delete and click "OK." The person will be notified about your cancellation and will no longer be able to send you friend requests.
Deleting a friend request doesn't mean that you are deleting the relationship. If you change your mind later on, you can always send another friend request.
If someone denied your Facebook friend request, you can try again. That is, Facebook will allow you to do so. Your request is being processed.
