Go to the Facebook page of your nonprofit (must be Page Admin). Step 2: From your page header, choose and add a button, or if you already have a CTA button, mouse over it and click Edit. Step 3: Choose "Donate through Facebook" to allow people to donate directly through Facebook (you must first sign up for Facebook Payments). You can select any amount from $1 to $10,000. When someone clicks the button, they will be taken to a PayPal page where they can enter their email address and pay via credit card or PayPal account. Their payment will then go to your nonprofit's bank account.
You can find out more about how people interact with your page and what actions they take by reading the comments under your posts. These include likes, shares, comments, and clicks. If someone clicks the button but doesn't leave a comment, this means they are not willing to share their contact information at the moment.
You can also send messages to your fans to encourage them to support you. For example, you could use Facebook's paid advertising platform to promote a fundraising event or drive traffic to a specific page.
Finally, you can make a one-time donation or set up a recurring donation. To do so, scroll down below the "About" section and click on the blue "Donate" button. Select an amount and click "Continue". You will then be taken to a PayPal page where you can enter your credit card information.
Select "Donate Now" from the "Choose a Button" menu. Put a link to your organization's contribution form here. On your page, post a message with a call-to-action for people to donate. When someone clicks the "Give Now" button, they will be taken to your contribution form.
How can I sign up my non-profit for Facebook Payments?
Facebook has created a variety of tools to assist you in fundraising, but this is by far the most common way to receive money through Facebook. When you build a Facebook Page for your organization, you can include a call-to-action button directly below your cover photo so that anybody who visits it will notice it straight away: clicks on this button which appears as a green "donate" icon.
There are two ways to use this button: either visitors can click it to donate directly from Facebook or you can direct them to another web page where they can make a donation. Either way, you should see some donations coming in if people know what to do with that button!
You can also set up a special URL on Facebook where people can go to make a donation. This would be useful if you want to collect donations on another website, for example a donation page on your non-profit's website. People would need to know about this special URL and then would have to visit it to make a contribution.
Finally, you can set up a special application on Facebook called a "Page". These applications work exactly like any other app on Facebook, but instead of being used by individuals they're used by organizations. An example would be an app that raises funds for a specific cause. You could create this app and then use it to request donations from your audience.
The "Nonprofit Organization" tag must be included in this area or else the Donate button option will not display afterwards. This information is used by Facebook to limit down the options for buttons that you will be provided with later.
