To display the whole profile photo in the thumbnail, check the "Scale to fit" option. When you choose this option, Facebook resizes the image to fit inside the box. The photo will then be displayed at its actual size within the thumbnail.
If you didn't upload a photo yet, simply click the "Choose Photo" button and select an existing image or take a new one. Once you've selected your photo, it will be displayed within the thumbnail area.
For people who use multiple computers for work, it can be difficult to keep all of their profiles consistent. If you want to keep the look and feel of one particular profile, but change the main image on another profile, you can do so by copying and pasting the HTML code associated with the image.
People also use Facebook to share videos. To display a full-size video thumbnail, go to "Settings > Photos > Videos" and make sure the "Scale photos to fit" option is set to "Off". Then, when you post a video, it will display as a large preview instead of a small snippet of the video.
Select the checkbox next to "Scale to fit," which is situated beneath the thumbnail version of your photo. Rather than cropping your image, Facebook will downsize it so that the complete image fits within the thumbnail. The photo will be resized so that it fills up the space within the thumbnail border.
To rearrange your profile image thumbnail, follow these steps:
Click on the layer thumbnail while holding down Command (Mac) or Control (Windows) on your keyboard. This will choose an area that meets the height and width criteria for Facebook profile photographs. Crop the image to fit the profile photo space by going to Image > Crop. Navigate to File > Save As...
Navigate to your home page after logging into your Facebook account. Click on the little camera icon in the lower right corner of your profile photo. When you hover over it, a "change image" link will appear. You may then choose between photographs you've previously posted and new photos you want to add.
